Cabra Castle

Set in 100 acres of parkland, the centre of a 1000 acre demesne, the sorroundings are now part of the Dun na Ri National Forest Park. Comfort and spaciousness are the elegant hallmarks of Cabra Castle - just 1.5 hours from Dublin or Belfast.

Cabra Castle boasts a proud history dating as far back as 1760. It's long history lends a mature, cultured air to the Castle which can be felt by one and all as they stroll along the Castle's magnificent hallways and stairwells where they once echoed to the footsteps of Oliver Cromwell and James II. Today, the former Cormey Castle - now Cabra Castle - offers a tranquil sanctuary to today's busy wayfarers.

In addition to the 20 en suite rooms in the ' Old House ', the 44 en suite Courtyard Bedrooms are located in what was formerly a 1750 granary & blacksmith. Relax in The Derby Bar or unwind on the sun terrace where they serve light snacks throughout the day. When evening falls dine in Cabra Castle's superb Court Room Restaurant. The Castle offers conference facilities for both 24 hour delegates and day delegates and there is also choice of Suites catering from 10 delegates to 200.

Cabra Castle also offers it's guests the chance to play on one of the most scenic golf courses in Ireland. This 9 hole golf course is situated within the hotel grounds and offers the most fantastic views of Carbra Castle. Horse Riding, Fishing and Shooting are available locally and can be booked through the hotel.

With such antiquaries like Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth within easy reach this is sure to be a memorable stay.

Guest Reviews of Cabra Castle

THIS PLACE WAS A REAL TREAT.

Vicki Barlean on Tue Nov 18 2008

wonderful place..

Linda Graniero on Mon Oct 13 2008

The initial room allocated to us did not have the feel of a castle, but more of a 3* hotel. We asked to change rooms and were very satisfied with what we got.

Violaine Roth on Tue Aug 26 2008

very difficult to find as we drove to Cavan. Would recommend more specific directions but overall an excellent choice.

Bill Paterson on Mon May 26 2008

Front desk staff a bit stodgey, but the room was huge and the walled garden/courtyard was beautiful!

Ed Cater on Wed Mar 26 2008

Would have liked to have a room located near the main building, but overall a wonderful experience.

Daniel Walters on Wed Oct 31 2007

Excellent

Joan Mckelvey on Fri Aug 10 2007

Beautiful place, wonderful accomodations. The wedding reception that we attended there was great.
